Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated research associate I to join our Potency Assay Development team. The potency team is responsible for the development, qualification, and implementation of cell-based assays, binding assays, and other methods to support lot release and stability testing and the biological characterization of therapeutics in the Seagen pipeline. The ideal candidate for this RAI position should be proficient in cell-based assay development experience, ELISA assay development, cell culture, and cell bank generation. Working experience in potency assays, cytotoxicity assays, live-cell imaging, and flow cytometry is highly desirable.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Cell-based assay development to support mechanism of action claims
  • Performance of potency assays as well as ELISA to support sample testing, assay qualifications, data analysis and interpretation as well as presenting data at group meetings
  • Perform routine cell culture, maintenance, quality check, and cell banking
  • Manage biological reagents including sterile buffers and cell culture medium preparation, sample aliquoting, and inventory management
  • Engineering cell lines for department use; includes screening, characterization, and comparative analysis to support use in routine sample testing and assay development
  • Function under supervision as well as actively participate in team/lab responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate should have B.S./B.A. with 0-1 years or an M.S. in Biological Sciences or a related discipline with relevant laboratory experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the capacity to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Flow cytometry software would be desirable
  • Strong focus and attention to detail
  • Experience with general cell-based assay development, live-cell imager and/or flow cytometry is preferred

The hiring pay range for this position is $61,000 to $79,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
