About This Role:
The Center for Risk Management Education and Research (CRMER) in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate to support a variety of research and development activities. This is a 9-month appointment. The Research Associate will serve as a technical lead on various research projects within the areas of marketing, management, finance, and economics. The incumbent may also support grant proposal development by conducting literature reviews, establishing methodologies, drafting milestones, tasks objectives, research task plan(s) and budgets as required. The Research Associate may serve as a Principal Investigator (PI) and will support the CRMER director to conduct applied research that will include literature reviews, data collection, interim and final report writing to meet sponsored research requirements. The incumbent may also interface with customers to identify project-specific needs and requests as directed by the director. The incumbent may coordinate with stakeholders across campus and off campus towards CRMER initiatives such as Fellow's research projects and outreach to develop CRMER education and training.

Responsibilities:
plan, organize, and conduct highly independent agricultural research;
design, test, and evaluate methods and protocols for research projects;
Prepare materials for Kansas State University/Institutional Review Board (IRB);
analyze, summarize, and organize data for publication;
prepare materials for submission to granting agencies and agribusiness entities;
prepare, maintain, and update website materials and social media;
as appropriate, provide classroom and lab/field instruction, whether as a primary instructor or guest lecturer;
conducts outreach by supporting efforts to develop CRMER education and training short courses as applicable; and
other duties as assigned.
