Position Summary:

Assists with the day-to-day administrative project management and may provide scientific direction for research projects of considerable scope and complexity.

Position Key Accountabilities:

1. Under the supervision of the Project Principle Investigator, the field supervisor will oversee the field activities during the NHBS-MSM2023 data collection cycle.

2. Will ensure that all aspects of the project protocol and operational procedures are strictly adhered to by data collectors including venue sampling, informed consent, documentation, the questionnaire, and HIV testing.

3. Train data collectors/interviewers for all project activities.

4. Evaluate data collectors/interviewers for all project activities.

5. Organize and maintain project data and complete enrollment reports for weekly HHD and CDC submission.

6. Will enter and maintain HIV test results and HCV test results.

7. Assist with providing HIV and HCV test results to participants.

8. Package, document, and ship participant DBS cards to the CDC laboratory every week.

9. Will be directly responsible for the supervision of: data collectors, ordering and maintaining project supplies, transportation of project supplies (including tablets for data collection), and HIV test kits to and from our data collection events, transportation of all data to and from data collection events, and field operations on a day-to-day basis.

10. Will supervise staffing for data collection events, scheduling hours of operations, and creating a monthly venue event calendar to meet the required sample size for specific NHBS cycles.

11. Will complete the Cardea Course: Texas HIV testing and counseling online certification training.

12. Will complete the Cardea Course: Trauma-informed care

13. Will also participate in required National CDC calls, HHD calls, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.

14. Will have other duties as assigned.


Certification/Skills:

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Working knowledge of MS Office.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
