Join us as our new Fermentation Research Engineer II / Senior Research Engineer
We work to find process improvements to liberate capacity and improve economies of Novozymes Fermentations. You will also be a part of Novozymes world class scientific community and contribute to our continual build-up of scientific and technical knowledge.

Welcome to Global Optimization within Product and Process Development
We are seeking an energetic Scientist to join our Global Optimization Fermentation team. At Novozymes, you will be part of a team of Fermentation experts tasked with identifying and implementing fermentation improvements in collaboration with other R&D scientists and operations. If you’re passionate about creating high impact process improvements at production scale, and working as part of a collaborative team, we’d love to hear from you!

In this role you’ll make an impact by:
  • Planning and analyzing lab scale fermentation experiments
  • Driving changes in production to improve Fermentation productivity and economy
  • Helping Introduce new enzyme products and processes with colleagues from R&D and Operations
  • Investigating new technology
  • Applying advanced data analytical tools to identify improvement leads.
Potentially relevant experience:
  • PhD in Biochemical Engineering or similar with greater than 3 years related work or post-doctoral experience (Senior Engineer). BS/MS with greater than 5 years of experience will be considered.
  • Large or pilot scale fermentation experience
  • Knowledge of microbial physiology and biochemistry
  • Analytical and data analysis experience
  • Great interpersonal and team working skills
  • Experience working with Design of Experiments, Statistical Analysis, Data Historians, etc.

Location: Franklinton, North Carolina (onsite)

Expected Salary Range: $85,000- $135,000 USD
