The Rastogi Lab, located in the Pediatric Translational Research facility at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, is focused on the investigation of mechanisms underlying obesity-related asthma in children. We have found that systemic immune responses in obese asthmatic children are skewed to a non-atopic Th1 phenotype, which is associated with metabolic dysregulation. We are now proposing to investigate the mechanisms underlying these non-atopic immune responses.
We are seeking a Lab Technician who is comfortable with processing human samples and are interested in mechanistic studies of chronic diseases including asthma. Under the guidance of Dr. Rastogi, the technician will be responsible for processing of samples collected from children and performing the functional assays, that will include use of flow cytometry, Cell culture for assays including cell interaction studies, confocal microscopy, immunoblotting and DNA and RNA extraction. Expertise in T cell immunology is a major plus.
