Brandeis University has an exciting opportunity for a Research Technician to join Dr. Michael Rosbash’s laboratory in the Department of Biology in Waltham, MA. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will utilize a wide range of approaches including molecular biology to support a group studying circadian rhythms and gene expression.
The Research Technician position provides an excellent opportunity for a new college graduate to continue scientific learning and development. The candidate will be trained to perform cutting edge molecular biology techniques, to communicate scientific information, and to work effectively as part of a research team. The candidate will be responsible for planning, conducting, and analyzing studies under the guidance of a senior researcher. The position is full-time. Information about the lab can be found at

Principal Responsibilities:
Perform experiments involving next generation sequencing, bioinformatics, single cell isolation, Drosophila genetics and/or general molecular biology depending on lab needs.
Collect, compile, and analyze data.
Participate in a research community by attending lab meetings and seminars.
Preferred Qualifications:
B.A./B.S. degree in biological sciences
Experience in a research laboratory setting
Excellent communication and team skills
Detail oriented with ability to learn tasks independently
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Must be flexible and able to respond well to changes in routine and able to balance multiple tasks or projects
