Resilia is looking to hire a Community Growth Manager to expand and increase the value our in-app community delivers to nonprofits and grantmaking organizations (we call these “funders”). The Community Manager will jump-start and oversee educational and community initiatives and create a virtual gathering place where nonprofit professionals connect, learn, and grow together.
This role relies on developing excellent cross-functional relationships with our customer success, product, and marketing teams. While the Community Manager will not be responsible for in-person field marketing events or the production of content in our in-app learning module (“Academy”), they will work closely and collaboratively with the teams and individuals that oversee this interconnected work. The role will report directly to Senior Product Marketing Manager, Maggie Lundy.
What to Expect:
First Week: You will receive a 30-60-90 day onboarding plan, get set up with all the technologies that support your work in a remote environment, start to meet other Resilians., and familiarize yourself with Circle, the platform that hosts our community.
First Month: You will immerse yourself in building your understanding of Resilia’s users and products. You will take over day-to-day stewardship of the Resilia Community and begin crafting a long-term plan to transform it. You will play an important role in building community inside and outside of Resilia, including encouraging Resilia employees to participate and interact with our users through Community.
First Six Months: You will establish and execute on a clear vision for what the future of Community looks like and what will resonate with Resilia users. You will work cross functionally to implement and build new methods to engage and delight our users. You will improve Community health as measured by metrics such as increasing active user counts, increasing activity (posts, comments, likes), and decreasing time to respond for new posts.
First Year: You will meet or exceed nonprofit user engagement targets (e.g., shortening time for user to create an intro post). You will build a Community that is an integral part of how users receive value from the Resilia platform, driving successful renewal and expansion sales.
About You:
You're jazzed about being the primary steward responsible for shaping and growing an in-app community that's only been live in the world ~6 months and is up to 2,000+ members
You have experience growing and engaging digital communities, creating vibrant online gathering spaces, and evangelizing members for SaaS platforms
You have a demonstrated track record of building programs and experiences that grow engagement. You're comfortable with ambiguity and have a strong bias for action to take ideas and realize them for our users
You're collaborative, actively seeking team member and user feedback and implementing changes for improvement.
You have an ego-free approach to giving and receiving feedback — you are a lifelong learner and believe in continuous skill development
You're data and goal driven. You can't wait to run reports to assess the quantitative performance of Community and keep iterating until we meet or exceed engagement targets
You're able to collect and interpret qualitative data, applying product knowledge and market insights, to consistently identify emerging trends and opportunities and propose relevant ideas for philanthropic and/or nonprofit audiences
You excel in a public facing role, both in a written and live context. You’re comfortable reaching out to users, connecting users with each other, recording videos, and conducting live events.
You're able to independently create clear, engage, and audience-focused content
You believe that there is huge long-term potential in working for a mission-oriented venture-backed SaaS startup seeking to transform the sector from funder-driven to nonprofit first
You’re committed to living the operating principles that guide how we work: Be Lionhearted, Put Nonprofits First, Move the Needle, Elevate Equity, and — especially important for this role! — Create Gathering Places
