Job Description:

We are seeking a self-motivated Revenue Analyst to join our team, remotely. This role reports to the Senior manager of Revenue accounting. The revenue team is made up of a Senior Revenue Accountant, Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting, and Director of Revenue. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate revenue recognition and maintaining financial records. Day to day activities would include reviewing closed/won opportunities in salesforce to ensure the contract's details and revenue recognition implications are set up properly. You will be responsible for preparing monthly reconciliations of key revenue related GL accounts and rollforward detail files for Deferred Revenue, Accounts Receivable, and Allowance for Bad Debt.

In addition, you will assist with audit requests, and work cross functionally with the AR/Billings team to update Sales Orders and Invoices in NetSuite for addendums and adjustments. As the company scales, you will also be expected to look for efficiencies and gaps to create new processes and/or controls and build out SOX controls.

Other key responsibilities include preparing monthly key metrics and flux analyses for revenue package presentations and developing a good working rapport with Sales Ops and FP&A, as the revenue team works closely with these groups. You will also perform monthly close activities and accrual journal entries. This is a fully remote role, and we are open to hiring in any location within the United States.

The base compensation range for this role is: $75,000 - $105,000 which does not include bonus/variable pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of key revenue related GL accounts
  • Review closed/won opportunities in salesforce to ensure the contract's details and rev rec implications are set up properly
  • Prepare rollforward detail files for Deferred Revenue, Accounts Receivable, and Allowance for Bad Debt
  • Assist with audit requests, pulling and tying out supporting documentation
  • Work closely with the AR/Billings team to update Sales Orders and Invoices in NetSuite for addendums and adjustments
  • Look for efficiencies and gaps to create new processes and/or controls
  • Help build out SOX controls
  • Prepare monthly key metrics and flux analyses for revenue package presentations
  • Develop a good working rapport with Sales Ops and FP&A, as the revenue team works closely with these groups
  • Perform monthly close activities and accrual journal entries

Job Requirements:

A successful candidate will possess a self-motivated attitude with an eagerness to become a revenue accounting expert. They will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and proactively anticipate and resolve potential issues. They should also have excellent organizational and time management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, and the willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The candidate should have at least 1+ year of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.

Strong analytical skills are essential, and advanced Excel skills are required, along with the ability to present/analyze large data sets in a clean and concise manner. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for this role. SaaS/Cloud industry experience is a plus, as well as experience with NetSuite and Salesforce.

Qualifications:

  • We are looking for a self-motivated accountant with ambition to become a revenue accounting expert
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to proactively anticipate and resolve potential issues
  • 1+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills required and the ability to present/analyze large data sets in a clean concise manner
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • SaaS / Cloud industry experience a plus
  • NetSuite and Salesforce experience a plus
