Job Description


As a valued leader on our team, you will be the first line risk manager leading a team that is responsible for managing processes and procedures for assessing and identifying potential risks within the Chief Administrative Office division (CAO). The divisions that this person supports include Human Resources and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance).

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
The Risk Manager for Human Resources and ESG role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the team responsible for determining the first line in business risk that poses potential threats, or risks, to the divisions within CAO including Human Resources (HR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).
  • Manage and collaborate with the team to evaluate and advise on the impact of proposed risks to the enterprise.
  • Manage information monitoring and processes to reduce risk using rigorous analysis.
  • Manage documentation of resolutions and control guidelines.
  • Manage others to review business strategies and make decisions that will drive success and limit operational risk in the face of shifting consumer behaviors and regulations.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM


Minimum Required Experiences

  • 6 years related experience.
  • Operational risk experience (1) partnering directly with process owners to anticipate and manage operational risks effectively through the identification and documentation of risks and controls within both pre-existing and new processes, and (2) conducting risk reviews and/or assessments to identify gaps and recommend changes to better manage and reduce risk.
  • Experience managing people and leading a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate and operate across multiple levels and business areas or divisions of an organization.
  • Proven problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated executive writing skills and ability to produce executive -ready work products.
  • Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to influence without defined authority.
  • Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion.
  • Experience helping an organization to plan and manage change in effort to meet strategic objectives.
  • A strong understanding of Fannie Mae’s mission and our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience using an eGRC platform (MetricStream, Archer, etc.), MS Teams, and SharePoint.

Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.
  • Experience in the process of analyzing data to identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data.
  • Skilled in creating visual concepts, creating content, and editing content by hand or with the help with computer software to communicate ideas.
  • Functional knowledge and/or experience in Human Resources and/or ESG.
