Risk Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities

• Investigates, settles, and/or denies personal property claims.

• Maintains and updates certificates of insurance for vendors, contractors, and others as assigned.

• Monitors repairs to ensure they are done in a timely manner. Submits documents to at-fault parties and follows appropriate accounting and payment procedures.

• Maintains detailed files with supporting documents for property damage, incident reports, and/or injuries.

• May follow up on status and litigation, notification of relevant parties, etc.

• Provides timely and accurate communication on all events and incidents to the Risk Manager and Corporate Counsel.

• May work with Human Resources on employee injury claims (workers compensation) to gather needed information and to ensure that employees are cleared to return to work as appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree or relevant related professional experience of at least 3 years, claims experience is preferred. Familiarity with different types of insurance policies and their functions.
