Join a team of multi-disciplinary engineers with a track record of innovation in our Advanced Products & Technology / Robotic Systems organization, as we develop robotic combat vehicles such as the Multi-Utility Tactical Transport (MUTT) and Tracked Robot, 10-Ton (TRX) that will enhance the effectiveness and safety of our clients for decades into the future

In support of our charter, the principal duties and responsibilities of the Robotic Systems Project Engineer / Operations Lead include, but are not limited to:

• Manage development and maturation activities for Robotic Systems initiatives as they progress through build, test, demonstration, upgrades and transition to market
• Support GDLS’ multi-year investment strategy in the form of AP&T Robotic Systems product and capability roadmaps, with planned timelines for development and insertion of innovative solutions
• Apply Systems Engineering processes and innovative thinking throughout development to assure quality, leading-edge products and capabilities
• Collaborate with engineering leads and teams to provide technical guidance and solutions
• Develop and maintain schedules with key milestones, reviews, and deliverables
• Support department manpower planning and resource allocation activities across APT and Market organizations to foster collaboration and ensure project success
• Provide planning and coordination of resources in support of Robotic Systems operational demonstrations and experiments
• Manage Robotic Systems vehicle assets (e.g. configuration, capabilities/limitations, retrofits, spare parts)
• Manage project procurement requirements and coordinate with suppliers and GDLS’ Supply Chain Management organization
• Support the transition of Advanced Products and Technology products and capabilities to the GDLS US Market organization
• Support GDLS Program Office, Business Development and Customer-facing organizations and consortiums to prepare for, bid on, win and execute collaborative work
• Pilot and apply new design and management methodologies (including new analytical/business tools) to help streamline and speed our work
• Represent the AP&T Robotic Systems to senior GDLS leadership and our global clients

• 
  Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline is required; A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics or similar engineering / technical discipline is preferred

• Should possess a strong interest and enthusiasm for new and emerging technology

• Experience with rapid prototyping and product development and test, including formulating new concepts from emerging requirements and ideas

• Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment

• Desire to lead with a spirit of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement

• Capable of self-organizing and leading project teams

• Track record of overcoming obstacles to complete projects on-time and on-budget

• Demonstrated initiative, time management and organizational skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Occasional travel required

• Occasionally must lift and carry equipment weighing 30 lbs

• Must be a U.S. Person (i.e. a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.)
