Conduit for interpretation of patients’ cultural needs to service staff; interpret clinical and other interactions between patients, families and staff; translate documents and other printed materials as requested by organization, arrange with outside translation vendors as needed; on-call for patient service needs and responds in a timely manner• Time Management. Accept referrals via pager, voice mail and other methods for interpreting both emergency and scheduled interactions; prioritize requests and recommends utilization of other methods if needed; familiar with medical terminology and procedures• Development. Participate in cultural sensitivity training opportunities for organization staff relating to interactions with patients and families of various cultures; member of related committees such as Cultural Diversity and Patient EducationEducationLICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:Physical RequirementsS - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
