Job Summary

Rock Petroleum is seeking a forward-thinking and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will lead efforts to identify, assess, and develop growth opportunities that align with our long-term business objectives. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and has the vision and expertise to influence the future direction of the organization. You will be responsible for forming high-value partnerships, negotiating strategic alliances, and delivering exceptional results that drive both immediate revenue growth and long-term sustainability.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Business Development Manager, you will:

  1. Lead Strategic Initiatives: Identify and develop new business opportunities, partnerships, and alliances to drive growth and competitive advantage.
  2. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to formulate and execute business development strategies that align with the company’s vision and long-term goals.
  3. Market Intelligence: Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to anticipate trends, identify emerging opportunities, and optimize strategic positioning.
  4. Value Proposition Creation: Develop compelling value propositions and strategic business cases to pitch to prospective clients and partners.
  5. Partnership Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, industry leaders, and potential partners to ensure the successful execution of strategic initiatives.
  6. Deal Structuring & Negotiation: Lead negotiations for high-impact partnerships, joint ventures, and strategic investments that support business growth and profitability.
  7. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, finance, operations, and other departments to ensure successful implementation of new initiatives.
  8. Performance Tracking: Monitor, measure, and report on the performance of business development initiatives and provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  9. Thought Leadership: Represent Rock Petroleum at industry forums, conferences, and networking events to promote our strategic interests and strengthen our industry presence.
  10. Innovation & Growth: Drive innovation by identifying new business models and expansion opportunities that support the diversification and sustainability of the organization.

 

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in business development or a related role, ideally within the energy or related industries.
  • A proven track record in structuring and closing strategic deals that deliver significant business impact.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and executing complex strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
