Director of Business Development

Rocket Communications is an enterprise UX Design company focused on designing mission-critical applications and systems. We are seeking a Director of Business Development to oversee the department and grow our commercial and government business. This person will play a pivotal role in shaping our overall business strategy, building a business development team, and ensuring a consistent pipeline of revenue-generating projects.

This leadership position reports directly to the President and requires a strong background in business development within the federal government, including agencies, departments, and large DoD contractors. This Director will also oversee the growth of our commercial UX Design consulting.

We are a small but fast-growing company, and your work will have a direct impact on the success of our business and team members. Our work can be challenging and complex, but our team is fun, friendly, supportive, and the work is rewarding.  Everyone works remotely from home (pre, mid, and post-pandemic) and we’re adept at collaborating with online tools. 

• You have a successful track record in business development and can acquire both government and commercial contracts.
• You have extensive experience working within or for large DoD contractors, with a deep understanding of the federal procurement process and contracting vehicles.
• You possess a strong network of contacts within the federal government, including decision-makers and influencers.
• You are knowledgeable of modern software development processes and understand user experience principles. 
• You want to lead RFP responses and other contractual agreements.
• You stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify potential opportunities and risks.
• You are an excellent leader who uses team management skills to inspire and motivate a team.
• You have 9+ years of business development experience
• Due to Rocket's work with local and federal government agencies US Citizenship is required- you must be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.

• You have 6+ years of experience and engagement with complex enterprise systems (i.e. healthcare, banks).
• You have 6+ years of experience and engagement with the USAF/USSF, DoD, and the Intelligence Community.
• You have an Active DoD Security Clearance.
