The Technical Assistant is responsible for the setup, operation, and shutdown of all tech for shows and events at The Rockwell. This person must be well versed in day-to-day venue operations and overall running of productions.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Opening and closing of the venue for guests
Setup of the booth and the space prior to events
Operation of all equipment in the booth and around the venue including both lighting and sound before, during and after events.
Set up and boot up the computer(s) used to control the lighting. Understanding of basic programming commands for QLab, Illuminair, microphones, projector, and sound board
Facilitation of the light/audio check held before each performance.
Attend technical rehearsals when needed.
On performance days, the lightboard operator?s call is usually 90 minutes prior to curtain time.
Facilitation and participation in any strike following the closing of an event/performance.
Keeping acts on track with timing and changeover of events.
Ability to think on their feet as things move quickly and require fast action
Problem solving with technical equipment
Maintenance and oversight of equipment to keep up-to-date and in good condition
