The Royal Caribbean Group’s Finance - Revenue Planning Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Analyst, Operations Research and Predictive Analytcs reporting to the Sr. Manager, Revenue Management Operations Research. This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida Position Summary: The Deployment Analytics team is responsible for all data, decision tools, reporting and information needs for the Deployment team. The Operations Research analyst assists in supporting the team’s forecasting, modeling, analysis, and reporting. Serves as a contact person for the department to help explain the tools and data results. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in development, implementing, and maintaining deployment systems, BI reporting tools, and deployment itinerary planning tools. Develop new reporting and models for deployment department. Work closely with deployment team to understand their business, challenges, and objectives. Think creatively to deliver solutions that meet the business needs, given the available data and systems. Learn to determine user requirements, develop own suggestions to meet deployment reporting and modeling needs, develop the tool, report, or model with teams to ensure it meets their needs, providing relevant, actionable deployment-related information isn the most effective format and medium. Respond to ad-hoc data and analysis needs while supporting various projects. Learn the alpha platform (Azure and Databricks) environment, synapse, SQL, and oracle data warehouse systems to pull various data sets required for ad-hoc analysis. Conduct statistical analyses of business data, evaluate trends, and pattern changes, and learn to disperse results in a format appropriate for the audience. Clearly explain tools and results to teams and management. Develop and conduct clear, concise presentations, communicating technical methods and impact on business terms. Continuously search for potential business, yield, emissions, revenue increases, and cost saving improvements while maintaining high customer satisfaction. Works closely with corporate strategy, brand and corporate deployment teams, energy management, port operations, and ESG teams to accurately predict fuel, carbon emissions, and new carbon tax developments. Assist in the development of tools to assist teams minimize carbon emissions, fuel expenses, and quantify carbon tax implication on itinerary decisions. Support operations research and other advanced quantitative methodologies to develop models to maximize net itinerary yields. These methodologies would include forecasting, machine learning, AI, statistics, econometric modeling, linear programming, and other optimization algorithms. Work closely with the deployment teams to understand their business challenges and objectives, identifying areas of opportunity and developing holistic solutions for the department. Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required (in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or related field). Two or more years of experience in forecasting, optimization, or data modeling. Strong quantitative, analytical skills and knowledge of applied statistics. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement applications using a programming language, especially PL/SQL, SAS, or Python. Experience in supporting and interpreting reporting using Business Intelligence tools (PowerBI experience a plus). Ability to handle dynamic workload, balancing short- and long-term projects. Ability to interpret analytical results into meaningful business terms and translate business needs to programming and data modeling. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to business and technical audiences in both spoken and written formats. Must possess strong reality check reflex and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Statistics preferred.
