If you want to bring your legal expertise to the aerospace industry, our team could be a great fit for you.Collins is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, business-oriented attorney to serve as an Assistant General Counsel providing legal support for all aspects of mergers and acquisitions on behalf of Collins Aerospace. This position would be responsible for assisting the existing team by reviewing potential M&A opportunities, developing transaction strategy and structure, conducting due diligence, drafting documentation, leading negotiations, and supporting deal closure and execution. This role will also assist with legal support for, and provide advice on, review, formation and governance of joint ventures and antitrust issues impacting the business.This individual will work onsite in either Farmington, CT(preferred) Charlotte, NC; Cedar Rapids, IA.What You Will Do:• Legal support for all stages of M&A, from strategy development, opportunity assessment, target identification, transaction planning and diligence, deal development and execution, and integration or separation post-transaction to mitigate risk to the business unit.• Effectively manage outside counsel engaged to represent Collins in M&A activity and strategic agreements.• Provide advice and guidance on strategic opportunities to Collins’ strategy team, including on teaming and joint ventures, pursuits, information-sharing and potential investments.• Legal review and compliance with antitrust and competition requirements, to support appropriate growth strategies consistent with pro-competition requirements and RTX code of conduct.• Coordination across the other Business Units and RTX corporate on legal matters to ensure visibility, alignment, and support.• Other duties as assigned, including legal support of central customer contracts team.Qualifications You Must Have:• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience• U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required• Must have a Juris Doctorate degree• 5+ years experience with M&A in a law firmCollins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
