The successful candidate for this position will be expected to engage with internal RTX business units to evaluate network security issues, propose design options, and work with network engineers and implement new firewall deployments from a network and security policy perspective. Prior experience supporting acquisition and divestiture activities as it relates to network security preferred.The candidate is expected to be proficient on firewall administration with firewall management experience and a strong networking background. Expertise in DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management systems is also important.What You Will Do• Administration of firewalls including all aspects of design, procurement, installation and maintenance• Maintain system and company security while ensuring IT security compliance with company policies, external regulatory requirements, technical standards, and best business practices• Troubleshooting firewall and access issues• Understanding of Azure and AWS architectures including the abilities to manage both network security and connectivity with the enterprise network• Strong network and routing knowledge including BGP• Understanding of InfoBlox or similar DNS/DCHP/IP address management system• Comprehensive understanding of network security best practices and evaluating security requests for implementation• Knowledge of current cyber security threats along with steps and methods for mitigating these risks• Expertise in basic scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell preferred)• Sound project leadership and organizational skills• Strong work ethic, enthusiasm and ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment• Flexibility for rotational on-call dutiesQualifications You Must Have• Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.• Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Network Security engineer in a large enterprise environment• 5+ years Palo Alto/Checkpoint or similar firewall expertise for system deployment and administration• 5+ years Skilled understanding of network routing protocols (BGP)• US Citizen or US Person required• Location: REMOTEQualifications We Prefer• Ability to meet deadlines with Projects and Assignments• Excellent decision making and critical thinking skills• Ability to learn and support new technologies and train others• Energetic, highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude• Outstanding organizational and communication skills are required• Detail oriented and has the ability to multi-task• Security Certifications a plus• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment• Availability to provide On Call support out of normal working hours on a rotational basis.• Thorough understanding of DNS/DHCPWhat We Offer• Robust total rewards package with compensation;• Healthcare, Wellness, Retirement• Work/Life Benefits• Career Development and Recognition Programs• Parental (including paternal) leave• Flexible Work Schedules• Achievement Awards• Educational Assistance• Child/Adult backup Care• +many other great benefitsLearn More & Apply Now!#reempowerprogramThis role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
