Sr. Data Scientist (Remote)

About the Role

As the first Sr. Data Scientist at Rula, you’ll have the opportunity to help millions of patients find the right therapist. You will work directly with Product, Engineering, Provider and Patient team partners to design, execute and interpret new experiments based around patient clinical improvement, patient retention, provider expansion, and more. This role will be solving the most unique, ambiguous and biggest business problems for Rula. Not only will your work be vitally important to the growth of Rula but also the millions of people who are seeking mental health solutions. 

Required Qualifications

• An M.S. or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field with strong quantitative foundation.

• 8+ years of experience working directly in a data science capacity in the focus area(s) of marketing, analytics, product, or engineering within an organization

• 4+ years of experience working directly on building algorithms and making algorithmic recommendations for business optimization

• 4+ years of experience working directly on A/B testing, including experiment design, deployment, and results interpretation

• Advanced technical expertise with scripting language (Python or R), SQL and at least one visualization tool (Looker, Tableau, Hex, etc.)

• Previous experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders within Product, Business, and/or Engineering teams to tackle unstructured and ambiguous business problems

• Experience within a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment with the ability to to handle dynamic priorities and creating MVP solutions when needed to move quickly

• A proven ability to spearhead and uplift company wide A/B testing capability

• Advanced proficiency in NLP, large language models, and/or generative AI

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on presentation skills and communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
