Rutter’s Universal API makes it easy for companies to automate accounting processes, deliver data-driven lending decisions, launch in new markets, and more.We’re backed by a16z and investors from leading fintech innovators like Plaid, Alloy, Ramp, and Modern Treasury.The RoleYou will:• Build the platform that enables our team to deliver new features and products rapidly and reliably.• Work on server-side development and optimization of data, including database creation and management and debugging.• Build the alerting, testing, tooling, and QA processes needed to make maintenance of external dependencies easy.• Improve the core systems that we use in order to build integrations in order to help Rutter become a first-in-class universal API.• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.• Design ways to build new features that work generically across the entire platform at once.You are:• A software engineer with 6+ years of professional experience in back end services• Excited about building for other engineers• Experienced building and maintaining large distributed systems• Experienced with Node, Typescript, and Postgres. We'd prefer that you're local in New York too, but this position can be hired anywhere in the United States.Examples of what we've built:Our product lives in our documentation. Here are some interesting features we've built:• Rutter Odyssey: building integrations 10x faster• Syncing engines that handle data fetching and updates for all of our platform integrations• Access management controls for merchant credentials, which we refer to as Rutter Connections• A webhook handling system to deliver real-time store data updatesCompensation• If performed in New York, the total cash compensation range for this role is $180,000 - $230,000.• Our actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to you, including your skill set, years of experience, and geographic location.
