RVP I Sales (Wisconsin)
Role
Elevance Health seeks a market facing, results oriented sales and account management professional who will be a leader in driving profitable membership growth and retention for clients in the state of Wisconsin. This high profile, growth-oriented leadership position will report to Paul Nobile, Wisconsin State Plan President. The successful candidate will work and build relationships across the internal lines of business to include but not limited to product development, sales, underwriting and marketing as well as other business leaders within Elevance Health. In addition, the successful candidate will serve as a point person for the consulting community. Working together with the key stakeholders, the RVP I of Sales & Acct Management will serve as the voice of the customer with healthcare thought leadership.
This executive will be responsible for defining sales and account management strategies, targets and tactics to achieve superior results. The Regional Vice President I Sales & Account Management will also be held accountable for contributing to growth for all level of business. With a client centric focus, this position is accountable for customer retention and expansion for the entire Wisconsin market including all support products and services. This leader will manage an existing team of Directors, Account Managers & Client Development professionals.
The priority for the organization and the enablement by the person in this role, is to demonstrate continued significant growth. The successful candidate will be expected to have an impact beyond their direct scope of responsibility by serving on the leadership team in a highly collaborative manner.
Specific responsibilities are as follows:
Client Management Vision & Strategy – Develop vision for a top tier account management function to reflect the evolving market dynamics, including necessary talent requirements. Anticipate client demands, competitive positioning and growth opportunities. Translate market needs to the broader organization and support development of messaging both internally and externally to drive a superior account management culture.
Client Retention and Expansion – Identify short and long-term service and sales goals and develop a corresponding strategic plan to achieve them. Assess capabilities and/or partnerships required to win in the market. Instill a sense of wholistic client service and orchestrate an effective “go to market” strategy.
Business Development – The sales & account management leader will be responsible for identifying superior ways to serve existing clients including the upselling of new business opportunities both within its traditional market space (adding customer segments and/or services) as well as new, ancillary products given the evolving market dynamics.
Market Analysis – Complete market assessment(s) to maintain competitive differentiation and advantage. Consistently monitor market dynamics and understand customer intelligence.
Development of the Account Management Organization – Assess, develop, recruit and lead talent to build a world-class organization and deliver business results. Continually enhance the capabilities of this team and the succession pipeline for leadership roles. Create an environment of pro-active accountability within the organization.
Relationships with External Stakeholders – Develop and cultivate strong relationships with all stakeholders including multiple client contacts, benefit advisors, industry groups, regulatory, senior management, as appropriate.
Internal Work Collaboration – Work collaboratively with relevant business departments to price products/services, inform the development of new products/services and effectively market the business. Work hand-in-hand with the sales team to effectively implement new accounts, ensure a seamless transition, and deliver superior service ongoing.

IMMEDIATE PRIORITIES:
In the first 12 months, this executive will need to become grounded in our culture and business, having an ability to achieve a fast start impacting financial results through exceptional client service. S/he will need to develop their internal reputation as a growth driver and make progress along a variety of projects and efforts to develop credibility. Specific priorities include:
Lead and work with the senior team to determine the key client priorities and develop the appropriate plans to achieve those goals.
Prioritize new business development/client expansion opportunities across targeted customers. Develop corresponding plans and capabilities to acquire business.
Develop a short- and long-term plan to further develop a high performing sales & account management team; continually assess and develop talent at all levels to reflect our changing client needs.
Qualifications
Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 8 years of leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. Managed Care industry required.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
Knowledge of the state market.
Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in business health administration or related field.
A track record of 15 years of progressively responsible leadership in customer support role, culminating in at least 5 years in an executive role serving complex accounts.
Demonstrated success facilitating strong internal/ external working relationships.
Demonstrated ability to develop leaders within his/her prior organization.
