SaaS Manager Product Management- Insurance

Job Summary/Objective
Assumes overall profit and loss responsibility and strategic responsibility for the Insurance Solutions product line. Builds and manages a product roadmap that addresses market needs and opportunities that support OEC’s goals and strategies. Manages senior and mid-level product professionals and coaches the team for continual success. Establishes market requirements and defines product requirements. Provides product marketing leadership and direction to the product team.

Key Responsibilities & Duties (essential to the job)
1. Manages the Insurance Solutions product team, driving business processes for the product line(s). Motivates and coaches team members for continual success, resolves high-level obstacles, as necessary, and provides formal and informal feedback.
2. Analyzes market data and works with third parties and customers including national accounts to identify needs and define new Insurance Solutions product opportunities. Maintains detailed knowledge of market conditions, competing products, and customers. Defines the product roadmap, success criteria, and sets expectations with all relevant stakeholders.
3. Builds product line strategy and execution plan for the Insurance Solutions team to deliver on financial and customer commitments, collaborating cross-functionally at all levels of the organization, and working across teams such as product development, sales, and marketing.
4. Designs product packaging, pricing, and name to distinguish product line(s) from other OEC products in line with the product’s value proposition.
5. Creates and delivers presentations at speaking engagements to drive customer awareness of product capabilities and new customer initiatives.
6. Develops and manages relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), third parties, and other external industry professionals, and is seen as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for the product line(s).
7. Maintains a solid understanding of the competitive landscape, OEC solutions and strategy, and customer needs; develops product line strategy based on those dynamics.

Education
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, with a focus in marketing or related discipline. In the absence of a degree, equivalent work experience directly related to the key responsibilities of the role will be considered as a substitute for the degree.

Experience, Skills and Key Competencies
At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in a product development environment managing large-scale projects and implementations, plus at least 2 years of management responsibility leading direct reports and projects to successful completion.
Must also be able to demonstrate the following skills and abilities:
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and create an engaging and positive culture that motivates and empowers others to do great work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively tailor communications to a specific audience or call to action.
  • Ability to manage and lead at both a daily operational level with direct reports, as well as at a strategic level with OEC leadership.
  • Passionate about building and nurturing client relationships and delivering the best possible experience.
  • Engaging presentation skills with the ability to effectively speak to and interact with various sizes/types of audiences in a professional and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Able to maintain detailed knowledge of market conditions, competing products, and customers.
  • Can apply principles of analytical thinking to define and solve complex problems.
  • SaaS and/or Insurance industry highly preferred

  • Travel for this position is required and anticipated to be approximately 10-15% of the time (possibly 1 to 2 days each month).
