POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for accurate and timely processing of biweekly payroll, ensuring the company is in compliance with federal and state laws. Responsible for the administration of employee benefits. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential. 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
  • Responsible for accurate and timely data entry and maintenance of active, new, rehired, and terminated employee profiles, including benefit records.
  • Process biweekly payroll within the payroll system, including final checks, as needed.
  • Assist with the administration and implementation in payroll records of salary changes, added compensations, deductions, bonuses, PTO payouts, and benefits for employees.
  • Review and confirm time entry for all employees.
  • Analyze payroll issues, recommending corrective action.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations, transactions, reporting, stop payments, and other operations.
  • Assist with payroll, benefit, and timesheet audit activities.
  • Provide exceptional service to employees with questions or needs regarding payroll, benefits, policies, etc.
  • Process password resets and assist employees with the use of payroll and timekeeping applications.
  • Assist other team members with assigned responsibilities, as needed.
  • Manage benefits, including determining eligibility, providing enrollment information to employees, adding and deleting employees with carriers, and entering benefits information into payroll records.
  • Write and update procedures, as needed.
  • Assist with annual benefit carrier renewals.
  • Assist with COBRA Eligibility.
  • Assist with 401(k) administration and audit.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Required Knowledge:            
Knowledge of HRIS and timekeeping systems (UltiPro “UKG” and Kronos preferred). Knowledge of COBRA process. Knowledge of current payroll and laws.

  • Ability to complete calculations and develop formulas.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate well with employees and benefit plan carrier representatives.
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage the workload independently, demonstrating strong initiative and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
