EH&S Safety Coordinator will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, interpreting, and mitigating EHS risks.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Environmental Health and Safety policies.
- Comprehend, analyze, interpret, communicate, and apply EHS government industry regulations related principles and practices, and company instructions, procedures, and policies
- Manage OSHA reporting for all required documentation as well as training on OSHA-mandated topics
- Participate in facility inspections made by authorized government agencies as well as insurance agencies
- Identify environmental, health, safety, and security risks
- Perform risk assessments
- Conduct monthly EHS audits
- Lead the safety committee in monthly safety meetings
- Train and evaluate all new, temporary, and contract employees in following security and safety procedures including wearing PPE
- Comply with all EPA inspections and reporting requirements
- Foster a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous improvement
- Comply with all safety and environmental procedures, including hazardous chemical/material control, lockout-tag-out programs, and other building awareness programs
- Respond to facility and safety alarm situations. Continually monitor the upkeep of facilities to be in a safe state
- Prepare action plans to mitigate or decrease risk factors
- Transform raw data into easily understood, presentable, and actionable findings
- Handle multiple, concurrent tasks with accuracy and proficiency in a fast-paced environment throughout the organization
- Collaborate with all levels across the organization to conduct and mitigate risks
- Provide quarterly training and certification for organization staff so that they can be aware of risks
- Maintain confidentiality of company–sensitive data
- Keep manager informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline
- OSHA 30 hour course completion
- 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of Lean
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Team player with leadership skills
- Safety traning experience required
- Ability to interact and communicate with all levels in a culturally diverse work environment
- Highly organized
- Ergonomist or Industrial Hygienist preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
