SUMMARY
As a Sales Analyst in the Consumer Goods industry, your primary responsibility will be to support the sales and marketing teams in making data-driven decisions to optimize revenue, market share, and overall business performance. The Sales Analyst is responsible for analyzing sales data, market trends, and consumer behavior to provide valuable insights and recommendations. By interpreting and presenting data, you will play a crucial role in developing effective sales strategies and enhancing the company's competitive edge in the market.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Data Analysis: Collect, organize, and analyze sales data, including sales performance, product trends, pricing, and distribution. Use analytical tools and software to extract relevant information from databases, CRM systems, and other sources.
  • Market Research: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to identify opportunities and threats. Analyze market data and consumer feedback to understand changing demands and customer behavior.
  • Sales Performance Evaluation: Evaluate sales metrics, including revenue, profitability, sales growth, and market penetration. Prepare performance reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop accurate sales forecasts and budget plans. Use historical data and market trends to predict future sales performance and ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Support the development of sales strategies and tactics based on data insights. Provide recommendations to optimize pricing, promotions, product assortment, and distribution strategies.
  • Sales Presentations: Create visually compelling presentations to communicate sales analysis findings to internal stakeholders, executives, and external clients. Use data visualization tools to present complex information in an easily understandable format.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including marketing, finance, and operations, to gather relevant data and align sales initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Sales Performance Tracking: Monitor the effectiveness of sales initiatives and marketing campaigns. Identify strengths and weaknesses to continuously improve strategies and achieve sales targets.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline sales processes and improve data accuracy and efficiency. Suggest and implement improvements to enhance sales reporting and analysis capabilities.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, consumer preferences, and emerging technologies relevant to the consumer goods market. Share insights and knowledge with the team to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Analyst, Market Analyst, or similar role in the Consumer Goods industry.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets to derive actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and forecasting techniques is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey findings to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of sales and marketing principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and cross-functionally with different departments.
