Withum's Tax Services Group is made up of a brilliant team of tax specialists that work to ensure tax reporting obligations are met in an accurate and timely manner and minimize or defer the payment of taxes. Their comprehensive understanding of international, US federal, state, and local regulations, counting our affiliation with HLB international, allows them to help develop economical tax strategies anywhere. Their services include Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, as well as International and Private Client services

As a Sales Tax Senior, you'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders. In this position, you will take a lead role on all aspects of tax engagements, supervise/mentor staff, and build/maintain relationships with clients.

How You'll Spend Your Time:

• Participating in multiple sales tax projects to identify and implement process improvements and process streamlining with respect to sales/use tax
• Assisting with sales tax audits and coordinate with governmental agencies
• Conducting tax research and taxation forms using online tax tools
• Reviewing and reconciling data reports to be uploaded into Avalara
• Preparing and presenting webinars on different sales tax topics

The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of the Following:

• 3+ years' experience of sales and use tax compliance, audits or related work in public or private accounting, or equivalent experience; preferably with SaaS and/or digitized/online products experience
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with business background
• Preferred licensed CPA, J.D., LL.M., or MST
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as strong analytical, reporting and data querying skills
• Experience with Checkpoint, BNA, Avalara and/or NetSuite preferred
• Detail oriented approach to work, confidentiality, good problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask on varying tax issues for multiple clients at a very fast-paced environment

The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 – $120,000 in NYC. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
