We do this all while abiding by a powerful set of product principles that enable us to design and build products that people love, in teams across the globe.What You’ll Be Doing• Collaborate with Slack’s most senior product and design leaders - including our CEO - to drive product vision and strategy for Slack, via design• Create prototypes that enable Slack to explore our product visions, in real time, with real data. We believe there is no better way to assess a product’s design other than via its use, and your prototypes will enable this• Slack is organized into product pillars, each of which are responsible for large strategies and product surfaces. You will drive complex design initiatives that span across multiple pillars• Work with cross functional partners to define business goal and strategic vision at both Slack and pillar level.• Communicate and reinforces product vision and business objectives in a way that all levels and roles understand and are inspired by.• Collaborate within the design team on systemic initiatives such as evolving our design system, our mobile design practices, and our prototyping process• Be an active mentor for other designers• Be a vocal and public proponent for Slack design, help build our design community• Help guide, improve, and implement design and feedback processes• Recruit and interview designers, and actively improve our inclusive design hiring processWhat You Should Have• 10+ years of extensive experience in a leading individual contributor role, on a product design team for desktop or mobile• An outstanding portfolio, showcasing a foundation in typography, interaction and visual design, marketing design, and idea generation• Experience working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid growth environment• Extensive experience closely partnering with product managers and engineering, to develop the vision, strategy and rationale for features• A track record of mentoring designers and design teams towards top performance• Extensive experience with prototyping as a means to explore and convey design solutions• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Bonus - proficient in mobile and web technologies.
