Samples and Facility Associate

  • This position has a 3 day / 12 hour per day shift, alternating M/W/F and T/Th/Sa.
Responsibilities
  • Operate all material handling equipment (including forklifts, stairtread machine, sample production equipment, electric and manual pallet jacks, hand trucks and drum dollies).
  • Facilitate and organize daily priorities and ability to meet deadlines
  • Balance and enter sample requests daily
  • Ability to learn and understand samples, ranges and call numbers (current and non-current)
  • Ability to understand all product literature and call names.
  • Pick and package requests in a timely fashion.
  • Replenish stock levels and pick products for sample and stairtread production
  • Understand quality control for the finished product and production of 3x3, 6x6, 10x10 cuts and other production processes as required
  • Assist with facility maintenance as needed in both front and rear operations.
  • Back up the warehouse when needed
  • Receive and enter goods received for samples via the internal system.
  • Assist in physical inventory when needed
  • Special projects as required
  • Assist with office furniture moves and light industrial work as required
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills required
  • 2+ years warehousing experience and understanding of warehouse operations
  • Able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to learn how to operate a forklift (certifiable)
  • Paperwork handling (hazardous materials/material safety data sheets, etc.)
  • Understand and practice safe work procedures and good housekeeping within the realm of the industry’s expectations under OSHA workplace compliance
  • Able to effectively communicate with staff, customers, and vendors
