Eligibility criteria:

• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with a graduation date in 2026 or 2027.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
• 10-week commitment for 40 hours per week with availability to start June 9th, 2025
• Must be able to commute to the office to work at least 3 days onsite

 Position Summary:

Are you ready to dive into the world of artificial intelligence? Join us at Samsung SDS America as the AI Platform Engineering Intern and unlock the opportunities to make an impact on the Samsung SDS Research. With mentorship and support every step of the way, you’ll have the tools you need to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

As the AI Platform Engineering Intern, you will have the responsibilities to work with our AI platform team to develop and test different stages of an enterprise AI solution using LLM. As part of the team, you will have lots of opportunity to design, develop, test and demo the integrated AI solution and eventually be used by customers. This role will contribute to building, testing and measuring the performance of the Generative AI solution for database application. You will also be able to make suggestion in design and problem solving for the integrated solutions.

This is an opportunity for you to gain hands on experience working with the team consisting of DevOps and AI software engineers. You will be exposed to problem solving and production issue situations, and learn how to weight pro’s and con’s for the different scenarios.

This role is based in our office in Mountain View, CA (on-site).  This is a full- time internship role (up to 40 hours per week for 10 weeks) from June 9th through August 15th.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and adjustment semantic context in the AI prompt process.
• Identify critical points and bottlenecks for prompt-base pipeline
• Measuring prompt-answer performance and accuracy

Qualifications:

• B.S./M.S./Ph.D. candidate in Machine Learning, NLP, Applied Math, or Data Science
• Basic understanding of current A.I. components, workflow and technologies.
• Strong technical background with analytical and independent problem solving skills.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and Linux.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Linux OS, Docker Container experience and understanding of computer network preferred.
• Experience with AI prompts and familiar with semantic context usage.
