S & L Operator
Some of the duties include operating process control equipment (using PLC Controls-RS View and Panel View, start & stop equipment, monitor and adjust oil & feed rates, weigh cars and input car #’s along with tare weight), to maximize product quality with minimum loss; calculate process requirements and record data from various sources; inspect equipment for proper mechanical and process operation to correct problems and maintain maximum plant efficiency; communicate and coordinate activities with co-workers and supervisors.
What you’ll do:
  • Must be willing and able to successfully complete all phases of Storage and Loading Training programs.
  • Must be able to follow instruction, analyze, monitor, and learn new processes and procedures.
  • Must be able to read, write, and should have a good understanding of basic mathematics.
  • Must demonstrate skills in planning, scheduling, and exercising independent judgment/decision making.
  • Must be able to use the necessary equipment and tools to perform the job duties.
  • Must be capable of operating front-end loaders, forklifts, dump trucks, and shuttle wagon.
  • Candidate must be capable of performing general housekeeping duties.
  • Must have basic knowledge of storage and loading process and equipment and must clearly articulate an understanding of process interactions, capabilities, and constraints.
  • Must be a self-starter, and work with minimum supervision.
  • The candidate must be capable of identifying and correcting problems and demonstrate a willingness to accept responsibility through initiative.
  • Must have a record of good attendance and demonstrate dependability.

What you’ll need:
  • Mus have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience operating heavy equipment.
  • High School Diploma/Trade School/GED.
  • Must be willing and able to successfully complete all phases of Storage and Loading Training programs.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting up to 50 lbs., frequent stooping, bending, walking, climbing, etc.; must be capable of working on roofs, in scale pits, on top of truck bins, on top of rail cars, on moving rail cars while wearing fall protection.
  • Must wear all personal protective equipment and follow all safety rules and regulations in accomplishing the job functions.
  • Responsible for encouraging crew members’ compliance with all safety rules and regulations. Work record must reflect a high regard for and commitment to safety.

  • Able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour shift.
