Role Overview
As a General Manager, New Business Line you'll be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and operational management of a business line within the organization. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive growth and profitability. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the business line, including market research, product development, marketing, sales, operations, and team management.
Your mission:
Strategic planning and execution
Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for the new business line.
Identify market opportunities and define the business strategy to capitalize on them.
Set clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
Market research and analysis
Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
Identify target customer segments and develop tailored offerings.
Product development and innovation
Oversee the development of new products/services from concept to launch.
Ensure the product offerings meet market demand and align with the company's value proposition.
Operational management
Establish and manage efficient operational processes for the new business line.
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., finance, HR, IT) to ensure smooth operations.
Sales and marketing
Develop and execute marketing and sales strategies to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
Financial management
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve profitability targets.
Team leadership and development
Recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing team dedicated to the new business line.
Foster a positive and collaborative team culture aligned with the company's values.
Risk management and compliance
Identify and mitigate risks associated with the new business line.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Your ideal profile:
Relevant experience. You have at least 7-10 years of experience in a senior management role, focusing on launching and managing new business lines or products.
Strategic and problem-solving abilities. You can devise effective strategies and solve complex challenges, driving business success.
Leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration. You are skilled in leading high-performing teams and collaborating effectively with diverse departments, including engineering and design.
Business development, sales, marketing, and customer focus. You have a proven track record in driving business growth through development, sales, and marketing efforts, and a strong commitment to understanding and delivering exceptional customer value.
Financial acumen and budgeting. You have strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and managing financial performance.
Communication, interpersonal skills, and adaptability. You are excellent at communicating effectively, building strong relationships, and adapting to changing market conditions and business priorities.
Agile methodologies, project management, and product development. You are an expert in agile practices, and project management frameworks like Scrum and Kanban, and skilled in product roadmapping, feature prioritization, and applying UX/UI design principles.
Entrepreneurial and results-driven mindset. You can identify opportunities, take calculated risks, and focus on achieving measurable outcomes to drive growth.
