The Role | Lead Electrical Technician
Based on location in San Francisco, Sauron is looking for a skilled electrical technician to own the installation & troubleshooting of custom & off-the-shelf hardware for cutting edge home-security systems. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with home security systems and their components, including cameras, lights, proximity sensors, alarms, and keypads. You will travel to customers’ homes in the SF bay area to perform and/or supervise installation and troubleshooting for Sauron’s home security system. You will be responsible for documentation and reporting for installations, and repairing issues as they arise.

You Will Contribute By
Building and designing electrical enclosures and spec parts including cabling, connectors and glands.
Traveling to customers’ homes in the San Francisco Bay area to perform and/or supervise installation and troubleshooting for Sauron’s home security system.
Documenting and reporting for installations and repairing issues as they arise.
Your Background Includes
Fundamental understanding of the NEC
Must have experience with Low Voltage (less than 50V) circuits and components, including cameras, network switches and sensors.
Must have experience with residential power circuits ranging between 120VAC and 240VAC
Ability to design and build electrical enclosures, spec parts including cabling, connectors, glands
Basic understanding of short circuit protection, including circuit breaker/fuse selection and installation
Must be licensed to perform residential wiring and component installation in the state of California (SF bay area)
Must be physically capable to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, work in tight spaces, etc.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, including one line diagrams, network diagrams, etc.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical power & communication issues
Ability to perform standard electrician duties including running conduit, pulling wire, installing circuit breaker panels, and terminating connections.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with both internal teams and high-net-worth clients.

Nice to Have (familiarity with/desire to learn)
Schematic design experience
Knowledge of NFPA 731
C7 Low voltage systems license
Deep understanding of ethernet based systems & POE
Experience managing or supervising electrical technicians
