As the SCADfit fitness specialist, you will use your specialized educational experience and training to ensure quality in all areas of the fitness center amenities and SCADfit departmental initiatives. This includes monitoring guests to ensure the safe and proper use of equipment, assuming responsibility for the facility in the absence of the director, and serving as a mentor to students/hourly staff regarding performance evaluations and professional development. You will also oversee the fitness/wellness center maintenance, upgrades, and improvements as required.
Additionally, you will assist in the development of targeted communication plans for members and university-wide initiatives through digital and print communication. In doing so, you will develop and maintain positive professional relationships throughout SCAD departments, demonstrate an active engagement in support of diversity, and act in support of SCAD’s mission, values, and goals.
In this role, you will embrace a team model with staff to foster an inclusive environment. Responsibilities include performing fitness evaluations, determining exercise routines, and designing programs for a diverse population. The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing one-on-one consulting/training, leading classes, and collaborating with the intramural and recreation department on related projects. The candidate must also handle multiple tasks with ease, work well with others, and uphold a reliable and responsible reputation.

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
