What you'll be doing:
Responsible for analysis, implementation, technical support, and maintenance of existing or planned interfaces with a focus on efficiency, standards and cost effectiveness. This position works with the SCP Health Revenue Cycle Services team, the individual facility IT teams and any vendors necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Adheres to specifications document(s) to positively impact data capture
- Collaborates with the business on the current measures required by regulatory bodies to ensure appropriate data capture
- Engages with internal systems for alignment on data requirements
- Collaborates with facility, vendor, and internal departments on setting up connectivity (VPN and Ports)
- Identifies interface scope through collaboration with facility contacts, vendor contacts, and clinical analysts to identify interface scope
- Builds appropriate interfaces with vendor(s) and facility
- Performs applicable unit testing scenarios specific to different service lines
- Performs unit testing of all interfaces prior to handoff for integrated testing with business partners
- Identifies, documents and resolves issues assigned by management or team leads
- Provides end user support during and post implementation
- Participates in workflow design and understands data impacts to users
- Complies with process flow models according to business needs
- Ensures maintenance of interface translations and lookup tables for proper normalization
- Performs data conversions according to FHIR specifications documentation
- Maintains knowledge of changes to HL7 structure using HL7 standards
- Adheres to and suggests modifications to the HL7 specification
- Delivers work within established timeframes
- Identifies and takes action on opportunities for process improvement
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field
- Minimum of 8 years interface experience
- Minimum of 3 years business user support
- Technical skills:
- HL7 Standards
- FHIR Standards
- SQL
- JavaScript
- Electronic Health Record Interface: Operational
- Interpersonal skills
- Communicate effectively with non-technical personnel
- Communicate effectively with team members
- Communicate effectively with management inside organization and with vendor management
