Scrum Master

A Scrum Master I is responsible for supporting agile teams (delivery teams) by utilizing agile project practices (leading team meetings, implementing best practices, removing/escalating impediments, reporting metrics, and coaching the teams to high performance).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Facilitate agile team events and lead 1-2 delivery teams
• Coach teams toward high performance by implementing Paycom’s Agile Best Practices, ensuring alignment and balance between the Product Owner and the Delivery Team, creating a safe environment for teams to work together, staying educated on new Agile tactics and strategies, and identifying, implementing, and measuring process improvements
• Provide transparency into projects and processes across the organization through the use of documentation and tooling
• Track, analyze, and present team-based metrics to management
• Assist with the tracking, management, removal, and escalation of impediments
• Communicate team/process successes and needs with management regularly and call them to action when needed
• Assist with the coordination of dependencies with shared resources

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Experience Required:

• 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Prior experience leading teams or projects

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Must possess proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in written, verbal, and presentation
• Ability to demonstrate analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and discernment skills
• Can easily adapt and learn new software systems and technology
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Skills, Abilities, or Certifications (in addition to required):

• An Agile certification (CSM, PSM, SFC, etc.)
• Knowledge of agile project practices
• Knowledge of Jira Software
• Ability to manage projects and teams with confidence
• Ability to demonstrate organization, planning, decision making, negotiating, diplomacy, and change management skills
