Job Description

SEAKR Engineering, LLC a Raytheon Company is seeking a skilled and experienced technical engineering manager with the software engineering department. This individual will bring leadership experience and technical knowledge to an already strong technical organization. The ideal candidate will have experience with multi discipline environments, embedded engineering, and team leadership. SEAKR Engineering provides payload electronics to the aerospace industry and requires highly talented individuals to accomplish this in a growing business environment.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

The Software Engineering Manager will have both supervisory and technical duties in the software organization:

  • Direct supervision of 10 or more software engineers from junior to senior level
    • This includes but is not limited to performance reviews, regular feedback discussions, tasking oversight and employee time tracking approval
  • Program oversight of software engineering teams
    • Agile and scrum engagement including often acting in scrum master roles, supporting schedule and plan development, metric tracking
    • Code and document review
  • Software and engineering process enforcement and refinement.
  • Tool development and usage improvement, including activities for overall process improvements through tool implementation.

 

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Software engineer recruiting activities
  • Staffing plan management and forecasting
  • Programmatic metric tracking
  • Customer meeting participation for program CDR, PDR, and other customer reviews or new business engagements
  • Proposal support including estimating software work, spec review, and technical writing
  • Planning and development of training curriculum for the software group

 

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in aerospace engineering or related industry
  • At least 5 years of experience as an Embedded Software Engineering developer
  • Experience leading small to large engineering teams, software or cross-discipline
    • Supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Background in embedded kernel development in VxWorks and Linux
  • Knowledge of real-time development constraints
  • Demonstrated skills in C, C++, or Ada
  • Experience with Revision control in Gitlab and SVN
  • Agile development practice understanding
    • Scrum certifications preferred
  • Previous work in Atlassian Jira

Education or Formal Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or related Engineering discipline is required.
  • Post-graduate education is preferred.

Additional Information

Compensation: Base pay range is $150,000 - $170,000 per hour depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA. There is potential for a remote hybrid work schedule once training is complete.
