Primary Purpose of Position:
BXP maintains an extensive network of systems and endpoints supporting both its enterprise and building operations across the United States. The position supports the management of security controls, products and services that protect BXP’s systems and networks and the initiatives that strengthen the security policies, process controls and technical standards.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the development of an evolving overarching cybersecurity architecture and the associated principles intended to support information technology and the business.
- Perform daily administration and development of assigned security tools, including those that manage firewalls, vulnerability analysis and security monitoring systems.
- Assume the lead role on assigned enterprise-wide cybersecurity initiatives and ensure timely delivery.
- Assist with the creation, modification and maintenance of enterprise-wide firewall and antivirus rule sets/policies.
- Provide second level (Tier 2) support for the daily monitoring and remediation of computer networks and assets, including security-related alerts and anomalies.
- Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
- Research, draft and edit policies in support of management and security standards.
- Support the installation, integration, maintenance, and security of building management systems.
- Support and conduct security audits.
- Assist with the development company-wide best practices for IT security.
- Research security enhancements and propose recommendations. Stay current on information technology trends and security standards.
Assist in the day-to-day management of services providers.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required with a technology-focused concentration preferred.
- Certifications in cybersecurity preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of cybersecurity or related field experience.
- Solid understanding of the fundamentals of computer networking and threat management.
- Deep knowledge of security solutions including but not limited to firewalls, antivirus, vulnerability scanners, network access control.
- A strong foundation in the core concepts of enterprise information security.
- Demonstrated ability to provide support for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues associated with security tools or functions with end users and stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Proven ability to interact with all levels of employees.
- Ability to operate successfully in a multi-task environment.
- Strong project management skills.
- Possess a service-orientated attitude when working with others.

Ability for limited travel and to work flexible schedules outside normal business hours when required.

Internal and External Contacts:
This position will interact with external hardware & software vendors both verbally and in writing. This position will interact internally with various levels of management and employees at BXP.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Director of Information Security who provides supervision and guidance, and coordinates, evaluates, and monitors work performance on a periodic basis.
