Security Engineer

Fortra is a global leader in Cybersecurity and maintains some of the most well-known brands in our industry. Our Corporate Security team is mandated to provide a secure environment for Fortra and its employees to operate within. The Security Engineer plays a critical role on the Corporate Security team and works directly with the Security Architecture team to implement security policies and controls throughout the organization. This role will be tasked with technical and non-technical tasks towards these ends.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Analyze system configurations for security and other infrastructure systems and seek continuous improvement opportunities based on assessed risks
• Contribute and collaborate with our cloud security teams on cloud architecture (e.g., AWS) design and security
• Assist with implementation and validation of Incident Response and Disaster Recovery policies and procedures
• Manage daily security requests and workflows
• Assess risk to new vulnerabilities and prioritize response activities accordingly
• Perform detailed technical security assessments as needed
• Build, implement, configure, and maintain a variety of security technologies and systems
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Cybersecurity Certification(s): CISSP, GSEC, CISM, SSCP, Sec+, or one of the Azure Security Engineering certifications preferred
• Bachelors degree or equivalent and 3+ years security industry experience, or 5+ years industry experience in lieu of education
• Experience implementing cloud and on-premises security technologies
• Understanding of network technologies, topographies, and connection mechanisms
• Firm understanding of modern identity and IAM systems
• Experience implementing and modernizing SIEM data connections
• Ability to identify potential risks within business practices and communicate IT risks in business terms
• Experience with M&A activity, global risks, and software development practices preferred
• Ability to clearly document workflows, information, troubleshooting help, and other technical and non-technical needs
• Advanced analysis and problem-solving abilities
• Collaborative team member with great communication and interpersonal skills
• Linux and MacOS experience are a plus
• API experience is a plus
• Programming and scripting language expertise are a plus
