Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for the security of the University, its property and may be scheduled to work on various shifts, holidays, and weekends. The primary hours for this position are 7:30am-4:00pm Wednesday-Sunday (Monday/Tuesday off). The position reports to the Shift Supervisor.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 1-2 year’s relevant work experience required. Must have a current Arizona driver’s license. Police or security experience is preferred. Must have the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Computer Skills
Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and sit. The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, required to lift 35 lbs. Employee must be able to stay focused and perform their duties over an 8-hour period. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

CLERY Act Responsibilities
Midwestern University Safety and Security Officers will complete training related to the Jeanne Clery Act, possessing an understanding of the Cleary Act itself and their role as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSA’s by virtue of their university responsibilities and under the Clery Act, are designated to receive and report Clery Crimes to the Department of Safety and Security so that they may be included and published in the university's Annual Security Report.
