Security Officer 2

Security Officers provide a wide array of services. Maintains security of grounds and/or buildings by independently conducting security and safety inspections or rounds on foot and/or in motor vehicle. Provides free safety escorts to students and staff around the campus’ 85 acres. Checking for unusual or abnormal conditions or occurrences, securing buildings, monitoring intrusion detection equipment if applicable, screening & checking persons entering and leaving premises. May assist with investigations of crimes, complaints or accidents. Prepares reports, documents incidents and routes related information. Assists with Dispatch Operations and other related tasks as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent; One year security related experience or equivalent vocational training. Ability to stand and work for extended periods of time; ability to work rotating shifts; skill in use of keyboard and personal computers. Valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy. Note: All applicants are subject to a criminal convictions background check.

Possession of State of Ohio Private Security Academy Training. Security experience in a university setting. Preference may be given to candidates with unarmed security experience.
