Security Operations Center Director

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity leader to manage our outsourced Security Operations Center (SOC). This is a Director level position and will report to the Sr Director of Information Security Operations and Engineering. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing security operations and personnel, leading incident response efforts, and implementing security policies and procedures. This position will work closely with the Directors of Operations and Engineering in monitoring, incident response and vulnerability management to protect Verisign's assets against cybersecurity threats.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the strategic vision for the SOC, including establishing and achieving performance metrics and goals
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the SOC, including incident response, threat hunting, and supporting vulnerability management
• Lead and mentor the SOC team, including hiring, training, coaching and developing staff members
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure consistent and effective security practices across the organization
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies, and integrate them into SOC operations and procedures
• Conduct regular assessments of the SOC's effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements
• Develop and manage the SOC budget and ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including vendors, and other industry professionals
• Coordinate / lead purple team exercises performed by internal and external assessors

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in security operations, incident response, or related field
• Demonstrated experience with managed security services providers (MSSPs) or external SOC
• Experience with managing a SOC or like team
• Strong technical knowledge of network and system security, threat hunting, and incident response
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others
• Experience working with industry regulations such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, and GDPR
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC

If you live in CO, CA, NY, Washington State the annualized pay range for this role is $171,200- $231,600.

The anticipated annualized base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
