Cloud Security Engineer

As part of the march towards our vision of building a powerful omnichannel communications platform, we are putting together a world class Security-Team to help secure our customers' data and earn their trust. Specifically, we need a Senior Cloud Security Engineer who can help improve the security of our cloud infrastructure.What You Will Do:• Work with Engineering teams to help build secure infrastructure at scale• Secure multi-account & multi-cloud infrastructure for Sendbird• Own CSPM and cloud security tooling and build automations• Embed security tools into the CI-CD system for IAC scanning• Identity security gaps and come up with solutions• Research and identify new attacks against Sendbird’s products.Who You Are:• Can manage complexity across time zones, technology stacks, and security issues.• Collaborative with cross-functional teams• Can connect the dots between security projects and policies with business objectives• Accountable: taking responsibility for the systems and infrastructure under your oversight• Effective project manager with the ability to influence without authorityWhat You Bring to the Table• Experienced in securing AWS and GCP based infrastructure at scale in a globally distributed software company• Experience with Infrastructure as Code• Experienced in working with and securing Kubernetes Experience with automation in python• Knowledge of security tools and platforms to enhance an organization’s security posture• Proven capability in making sound, effective security decisions that allow an agile business to be secure and move quickly• Experience leading complex cross functional projects from start to finish and mentoring other security practitioners• An ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively to engineers who know way more than you about their codeBonus Points• Experience developing security tools• Presenting at conference and/or working on open source projectsCompensation:Our US benefits include (but are not limited to)• 20 days PTO, 13 paid US company holidays, five sick days, one volunteer day, plus two rest/rejuvenation days and your birthday off• Company-subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance (100% for the employee, 80% for dependents)• Flexible Spending Accounts or Health Savings Accounts, depending on your selected health insurance plan• Equity program• 401K program• Parental leave• Life and disability insurance• Be Your Best Self: An annual stipend of $3,500 (prorated by start date) for expenses ranging from professional development classes and training to personality assessments, gym memberships, books, fitness classes, mental health services and massages.Pay TransparencyWe set standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location for cash compensation. To determine our ranges, we utilize various compensation data benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role is $200,000-$240,000. This range is specific to the San Francisco Bay market. We consider several factors when making final compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs which may cause your specific offer to vary from the amount listed above.Flexible Work PolicyWe offer a flexible work schedule at Sendbird. With those values in mind, we require all employees within an hour's commute range of their local office to gather with their team in the office three days per week as a minimum. Some of our roles require a more frequent in-office schedule.
