Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates strong knowledge of GAAP and understanding of internal controls
• Prepares detailed account and unit-level analysis, identifying trends or unusual activity; displays the ability to research and resolve outliers effectively
• Ensures that Standard Costs are applied properly throughout the organization, including in Cost of Goods Sold for both internal and external transactions as well as Inventory valuations.
• Prepares Variance reports to show where departments are performing in relation to Standard Costs.
• Collaborates with members of Finance, Accounting, Operations and other teams in order to assist the Operations and Finance teams in analyzing the costs of goods sold for all products and update Standard Costs on a semi-annual basis.
• Responsible for performing financial and operational support duties within the Accounting Department
• Assists the Controller as directed; prepares financial statements; completes board reports and schedules; creates, manages and provides various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
• Completes and records all equity transactions and reconciliations to the general ledger
• Provides support to all areas of the department where service or assistance is needed
• Assumes responsibility for special projects; gathers data and prepares reports for Senior Management, audits and other personnel
• Looks to add value through analyses with business recommendations and through a continuous process improvement mindset; seeks to challenge the status quo
• Partners well with internal customers, co-workers, and management and displays an overall dedication to the team
• Continuously develops technical skills in order to leverage systems for process improvements
• Must be self-motivated, proactive and have the ability to work independently with little supervision while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Has a positive attitude, is adaptable, and displays a willingness to assist others as needed
