Overview:
Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are presently looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Technician with experience working with Canadian vendors including working with Canadian invoices and the related GST/PST/HST taxes on the invoices as well as
Concur experience to join our Accounting team. This role will handle invoicing, auditing travel expenses as well as accounts payable functions. This is a remote position, but you must be able to work a consistent schedule that falls between 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Phoenix, AZ time.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with spend management in Canada and the United States including handling incoming invoices and vendor relations, inputting invoices, coding each correctly and following up with the approval chain
- Manage Canadian related items – invoices, employee and vendor bank payments, and invoice tax recording

Ensure vendor information is obtained for proper set up in the accounting software
- Managing Accounting corporate credit card transactions and ensuring transactions are recorded timely

Reconcile the Accounting corporate credit card for transactions processed and charged

Process subcontractor vendor invoices while reviewing for compliance to company policies

Work with Project Managers and client invoicing team to ensure invoices are properly coded

Communicate with sub consultants to ensure all required information is received in a timely manner

Process Office Admin expense reports while reviewing for compliance to company policies

Ability to read and interpret subcontractor documents

Provide excellent customer service and business support to internal and external customers

Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers and respond to common inquires or requests

Review Master Subcontract Agreements (MSA’s) and tracking of subcontractor sub budget and related documents

Special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of general Accounts Payable experience

3+ years of experience working with Canadian vendors including working with Canadian invoices and the related GST/PST/HST taxes on the invoices REQUIRED

3+ years’ experience working with subconsultant invoice processing in a professional services firm, preferably in an Architectural/Engineering or Construction company

High School Diploma, Associates Degree or higher in accounting or related field preferred

Experience with Concur Expense and Invoicing strongly preferred

Understanding of Canadian invoice transactions and GST/PST/HST tax recording

Knowledge of subcontract agreements and task orders

Strong attention to detail and accuracy of data input

Ability to work under general supervision and embrace department/company procedures

Demonstrate “Service Excellence” in all interactions with employees and vendors

Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, and time management

Ability to exercise sound business judgement in dealing with confidential information

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and external vendors and customers

Strong MS Word and Excel (intermediate to advanced) skills

Experience with major ERP systems, BST Global preferred
Pay Range:
$32.00 to $36.00 an hour. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
