Position Vacancy Announcement

Florida A&M University is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Senior Associate Director, Human Resources vacancy. This position reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Human Resources, Chief of Staff for Finance and Administration, and serves as the Associate Director, HRIS in providing direct technical support within various HR databases and the maintenance of the HR website.

Responsibilities

The incumbent in this position coordinates system changes, updates, and releases, and verifies through testing that all objects, permissions, and assignments are performing as expected; Addresses or escalates issues as needed; Collaborates with Human Resources Managers to facilitate and improve daily operation of business process workflows; Recommends process improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes to enhance service delivery and data integrity; Provides guidance and training to partners on system processes, data, and troubleshooting errors; Develops and utilizes auditing tools to ensure data accuracy and integrity; Develops operational processes and procedures, guidelines, and documentation for the Office of Human Resources; Maintains awareness of current trends in Human Resources Information Systems with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies; Communicates changes in PeopleSoft-HCM or other HR data base systems functionality to immediate supervisor and other key stakeholders as assigned; and provides technical support to all human resources staff and others.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of related experience; or master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

At least five years of PoepleSoft and HR web experience;
In depth knowledge of Oracle (PeoplSoft) development and interfacing methodology;
Ability to analyze and map work flow processes for improved effectiveness and efficiency;
Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures for computer support;
Knowledge of applicable computer software and operating systems;
Knowledge of standard programming languages, concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field (i.e. C++, Visual Basic, TCP/IP, SQL, Oracle Applications, UNIX, HTML, CGI, and JavaScript);
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking based upon in-depth data, substantiating information, considering and respecting others input and personal values and ethics;
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;
General knowledge of human resources procedures and policies; and
Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.

Pay Plan

This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment.

Section 110.1128, Florida Statutes, prohibits employment by the State (including re-hire after a break in service) of any male born after October 1, 1962, who failed to register with the Selective Service System, under the provisions of the U.S. Military Selective Service Act, during the person’s period of eligibility (ages 18 through 25). Additionally, if currently employed by the State, this law prohibits the promotion of such person. You may be required to provide documentation.
