Senior Associate, Finance

Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Associate, Finance with a keen eye for detail and love of numbers. Our Finance team is responsible for the financial management of the agency, and working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth business practice.

You will act as a liaison between the Client Leadership Team and the billing department to track media activities, ensure that vendors are paid appropriately, and that clients are paid appropriately. Working in a team environment, you will add value across Mindshare’s portfolio of accounts, introduce new efficiencies in day-to-day operations, and mitigate financial risk to the organization.

Your Impact:

• Manipulate raw data to provide structured data sets for analysis
• Analyze media performance data to uncover actionable insights which can be used to provide learnings and recommendations to the Client Leadership team
• Act as control for all MPAs (maintain accurate files and act as the central repository for this paperwork)
• Set up and maintenance of publication/vendor codes, client codes, product estimates, ad codes and any other necessary set up required for the detailed and accurate billing of all accounts within the group Prioritize and clear media discrepancies for all media channels
• Discrepancy resolution - work in collaboration with the Client Leadership team, and GroupM Shared Finance Services (SFS)
• Meet with account leads to review BCRs including MPAs versus billings on a monthly basis to ensure that MPA is not exceeded
• Work with media investment teams to resolve discrepancies and balancing campaigns
• Work with Accounts Payable and the media investment teams to balance media campaigns
• Ensure the group is adhering to all finance related SOPs
• Follow-up with media team members on an ongoing basis regarding billing, finance procedures and discrepancies
• Identify and resolve errors and discrepancies on a day-to-day basis
• Budgetary reporting and control for all accounts within the group (including fee, production and miscellaneous billings as requested, as well as time reports as needed)
• Prepare/issue various monthly reports
• Issue consolidated invoices to the client on monthly basis
• Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance, or Business OR equivalent professional work experience
• 2+ years’ experience of finance administration, agency experience required
• Exceptional organizational skills and detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
• Excellent time management skills: proven ability to prioritize and organize workload, and operate under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects
• Showcase a natural gift for grasping concepts quickly and making good judgments
• Ability to work on own initiative; pre-emptive and proactive; constantly thinking ahead; demonstrating a hands-on and highly organized approach to all tasks
• Ability to foster collaborative relationships with other cross-functional teams
• Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced work environment effectively
• Strong capability in customer service skills and communications
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of DDS would be an asset
• Comfortable with ambiguity – flexible and adaptable with a willingness to learn and assist wherever needed
• Comfortable working with budgets/numbers and a strong understanding of mathematical concepts

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $45,000 to $90,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
