As the Senior Brand Manager (SBM) for Vodka, Gin & Ouzo, you will be deeply embedded in setting and executing the long-term vision and strategy for the Vodka, Gin and Ouzo categories. This portfolio includes Campari America’s #1 brand by volume and Commercial Leading Pillar, SKYY Vodka. Accompanied by SKYY Infusions, Bulldog Gin, Ouzo 12, and an aggressive innovation pipeline this is a highly visible role leading this critical and dynamic category for the Group. As the leader of the brands you will be leading from the front and deeply engaging a cross-functional team to drive critical business outcomes for Campari America. The primary responsibility is to manage the in-market performance of the brands while building and executing the future product roadmap to deliver profitable growth as a key strategic business leader. You will have a direct report and multiple agencies and be part of an environment that pushes the boundaries, finds ways to connect the brands to culture and is highly collaborative. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing multi-million-dollar budgets, spearheading innovation roadmaps and go-to-market strategies, leading consumer communication, engagement and connecting plans across the different marketing touchpoints. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Strategy
Lead the implementation of the established long-term vision for a portfolio of brands to deliver and exceed financial goals. Implement the annual brand marketing plans by aligning with VP Marketing, partnering cross functionally, and leading the SKYY Brand Manager. Guide and promote brand building practices across the organization and champion the vision across a variety of stakeholders including the leadership team, trade, sales and distributors. Be the brand lead for quarterly business reviews delivered to the leadership team, driving outcomes and actions to achieve the business goals. Drive the development of all marketing assets and selling tools in partnership with sales and CCM team members to ensure cohesive and impactful messaging that will deliver on the brand objectives.
Collaborate with the strategy, innovation and insights team to discover and capitalize on key growth opportunities in the market such as new product development (NPD), pricing, distribution opportunities, optimizing our size mix, market exploration, and new consumer unlocks etc. Innovation will be a key lever of the portfolio for the immediate and mid-term future as we find new occasions and unmet needs that we can address with NPD. Lead brand extension developments, size mix opportunities, and sizing potential NTW brands you will be deeply involved with the Campari springboard process and work closely with the Global and Local innovation teams. Review regular brand performance reports and conduct additional analysis each month to be highly connected with the specific brand challenges and opportunities as they track throughout the year. Provide regular updates and recommendations for actions to management and collaborating teams.
Financial
Responsible for brand financials including guidance on where and how the brands should be investing based on the overall strategy, driving total efficiencies in the marketing budget and providing analysis on spending vs. plans. Lead the portfolio of brand’s P&L for a marketing driven organization, working to build brands with strong equity that will enable increased value delivery over time.
Leadership
Directly manage one team member. Lead multiple agencies and the IAT to deliver all consumer facing consumer communications. Collaborate closely with multiple stakeholders including Global Strategic Marketing, Sales, Trade Marketing, Finance and Legal.
Requirements
7 + years in brand management with CPG experience, spirits background preferred
Strong preference for those with Innovation and Ready to Drink / Beer experience
Passion for spirits industry and a great brand champion
MBA preferred; BA/BS required
Must demonstrate strong understanding of finding a consumer insight and building a powerful marketing strategy
Creative thinker who has demonstrated an ability to identify a problem, build a creative strategy to solve, and then execute it
Strong analytical skills, problem solving and financial/business understanding
Strong ability to effectively present and communicate to leadership and cross functional teams
Able to build collaborative relationships, influence, and work cross functionally plus inspire direct reports
Can develop, inspire and lead direct reports.
An ability to review facts and information and provide sound judgement calls
Thrives in an environment that is fast paced and able to adapt to changing situations
Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Data Analysis, Syndicated Research (i.e. Nielsen)
Ability to travel
The expected base salary for this position, based in New York City ranges from $140,000 - $175,000. The range will vary if outside of this location. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
