As USAC continues to support universal service impacting healthcare providers, educators, and consumers, it is critical now more than ever that we hire people equally passionate and committed to helping fulfill our mission. We are currently seeking an experienced, dynamic, and collaborative professional to serve as an Senior Business Analyst on our Audit & Assurance team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of PMO Audit and Assurance you will be:

  • Assist with managing and reporting on projects assigned to the Project Management Office (PMO). This position is responsible for business process improvement, preparation of management reports, vendor management support, and implementation of business processes and tools to achieve audit organization objectives and goals. The Senior Business Analyst will be required to support multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Working in a creative and fast-paced environment, the Senior Business Analyst will either oversee and/or perform the below duties within a program or in support of enterprise and program support functions. Among others, your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Provide operations support to maintain the audit software applications and tools which includes administrative activities, maintain data accuracy, and provide training.
  • Maintain knowledge of audit business processes, tools, and data to recommend refinements to the current state and/or implement new functionality to introduce efficiencies.
  • Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of new functionality in audit software applications and tools.
  • Sustain an audit operations model that includes business process diagrams, logical data model, and process and procedure documentation.
  • Provide actionable data to support audit management requests to communicate audit performance and activities in the form of reports and dashboard/scorecards.
  • Actively participate in Agile methodology: create user stories, manage user backlog, and provide input at the reviews and retrospectives.
  • Participate in cross-functional departmental projects as the audit advocate.
  • Provide project management support for small- to medium-sized initiatives. Maintain project plans using project management tools and participating in project status meetings and capturing meeting minutes
  • Provide oversight of audit firms and serve as a liaison to internal USAC staff and management to ensure the successful delivery of audit assignments.
  • Analyze data to plan audit activities, identify business trends, and communicate business issues and organizational implications.
  • Conduct vendor invoice verification and manage cost/hours per individual firm task orders.

About You

The successful candidate will excel at operating in a diverse and fluid environment and will be crucial for the success of the Audit and Assurance Division

  • Bachelor Degree and/or relevant technical training and certifications.
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of directly related experience.
  • One (1) to Two (2) years of operational and/or technical experience.
  • Experience reporting on projects/portfolios, developing process models, identifying metrics, and developing management reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and develop a strong understanding of enterprise data and data relationships
  • Experience in analyzing data to identify risks and the preparation of visually appealing presentations to convey the results
  • Experience in requirements gathering and preparing required documentation
  • Experience to prepare information in a concise and professionally written format
  • Experience in conducting user acceptance tests.
  • Demonstrated ability to support multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent analytical and proven problem-solving skills.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Visio, MS Project, SharePoint, Microsoft SQL Query, JIRA, and Confluence.
