Who we are

Requirements

What you will be doing

The Senior Business Development Manager will lead our activities in the B2B vertical. We have credible success and an ambitious plan in the B2B arena for sales of our kerbside data packages, mobile applications and smart parking solutions. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Head of Commercial to maximise the opportunities and revenue streams in this space.

  • Inheriting a warm market vertical with significant pipeline opportunity over the next 12 months and beyond
  • Collaborating with the wider sales team including the Partnerships Manager, GovTech BDM and Customer Success Managers to maximise opportunities to cross-sell products and services
  • Building further relationships with prospective customers and negotiating at Senior Management and C-Suite level
  • Be a brand ambassador for AppyWay in the B2B arena alongside the Head of Commercial and Partnerships Manager
  • Work closely with the marketing team to define target customer segments, develop new routes to market, and identify opportunities to accelerate the sales process
  • Demonstrate your ability to effectively build and manage your sales pipeline, ultimately being accountable for achieving targets.
  • Excellently maintain prospect and opportunity information via our CRM solution, Salesforce
  • Likely attend key industry events, participate in webinars and meet a variety of customers across the UK
  • This is a remote based role with regular trips to our London office
  • This role reports directly to the Head of Commercial

Your day to day tasks will include:

  • Qualifying and developing inbound leads.
  • Managing and optimising active leads.
  • Participating in outbound lead generation campaigns with direct prospect outreach.
  • Managing a variety of business opportunities, from short term plug and play solutions to more complex tailored proposals.
  • Meeting and presenting to key customer stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Attending and participating in demonstrations and pitches.
  • Responding to RFPs and tenders.
  • Reporting on pipeline, forecasts and weekly activity to line manager and wider team.
  • Working with Marketing and Product to provide insight from the field that helps us realise greater value for our customers through our solutions.
  • Supporting initiatives that improve our value propositions and marketing effectiveness.

What you will have

We are looking for an experienced sales professional with 3+ years relevant experience in B2B sales or account management at a mid-to-senior level. The ideal candidate would have experience in either SaaS, mobility, or data industries. Experience of building and securing complex multi-layered deals would be an advantage and would help the successful candidate hit the ground running.

We have a strong team ethic at AppyWay and this includes the Commercial department. We are seeking a team player who seeks to bring colleagues on the journey with them. Our sales team are our voice of the organisation to the customer, and the voice of the customer to our organisation. Communication skills are a priority in this role to drive successful outcomes for AppyWay.

AppyWay is on a mission to demonstrate the value our products can bring to customers so keen commercial acumen is a must for this role. We are a fast-paced organisation and our Business Development Managers are empowered to make decisions quickly to realise additional value from our customer base. In the medium term there will be progression opportunities for the successful candidate to grow with the business. You will have the full support of the Head of Commercial to succeed in your role.

What you would get

  • Starting salary: £50,000-55,000 depending on experience
  • Performance related commission: £30,000 OTE (uncapped)
  • Equity: Share Options after 6 months of employment
  • Flexible working environment: we’re operating a hybrid model with at home and office working, with opportunities to ‘work from anywhere’ within the U.K. & E.U. up to 15 business days a quarter
  • Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays + 1 additional day per year up to 3 years
