Senior Claims Adjuster

Rice Insurance Services Center has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Claims Adjuster. The Senior Claims Adjuster - CS manages and evaluates claims for clients. This is on track to be a SME (Subject Matter Expert) in claims and has a high level of exposure to clients.

Rice Insurance Services Center, an Accretive company, has specialized in state-mandated real estate E&O programs since 1989. We provide the group policies in 13 of the 15 states that have group programs and require real estate licensees to maintain insurance. We also provide an independent program in one mandated state. We handle all aspects of the program, providing ease and consistency throughout the entire process, from obtaining coverage to claims resolution. What You'll Do

• Investigates claims for merit and legitimacy by gathering documentation from all affected parties, identifies and verifies damage to person or property either through statements or on-site investigations or meetings with clients.
• Establishes appropriate pricing of claims based on research and analysis.
• Notifies clients of results of investigations. Discusses lines of authority for specific claims resolution. Makes recommendations for settlements or denial of claims.
• Processes denials.
• Manages complex or multi-jurisdictional claims.
• Negotiates claims with claimants and or claimants’ legal counsel.
• Obtains required releases for finalization of claims.
• Maintains post-litigation files.
• Properly reserves funds.
• Adjusts client claim reserves appropriately.
• Reviews rates, rules and regulations to ensure that claims practices correctly follow standards and laws.
• Travel is expected to be negligible in this role.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's Degree and 5-8 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Adjuster and Property and Casualty Agent license preferred.
• Tech savvy; ability to learn multiple systems including Microsoft Office Suite and Agency Management software.

Pay: Up to $60,000.00 per year
